Loudoun winemaker Sebastien Marquet, studied winemaking in his native Burgundy where he attended and graduated from the Lycée Viticole et d’Oenologie de Beaune. Through the 90s, Marquet produced wines in prestigious villages in Burgundy as well as in Languedoc-Roussillon in Southern France. After leaving France, Marquet launched the Caribbean’s first vineyard. After 7 years, Marquet left paradise for another; California’s Sonoma and Napa Valleys. There he worked as winemaker and consultant at numerous wineries. Today, Marquet is owner of Burgundy Style, a consulting firm for the wine industry based out of Loudoun County, Virginia, focusing on winery management, winemaking, and new winery start-ups. He makes wine, and provides consulting services in winery, and vineyard management for 4 clients in Loudoun County; Greenhill winery acting as Winemaker/CCO, Doukenie, Lost Creek, and Bozzo Family Vineyards, and 7 Oaks in Albemarle County. In addition to consulting in management, branding, and new winery start ups, Marquet , with his partner, (Isabelle Truchon) run a wine lab called Vitilis Oenology Wine Services. The lab provides winemakers with quick turnaround for analyses of berry juice, must, and wine. Clients can pay as they go, or obtain great value by signing up through the subscription program.
