Mattias Hägglund is a bartender in Richmond, VA. He began tending bar while studying history at Virginia Commonwealth University. His interest in history instructs his cocktails, with a mind toward classic styles that he carries forward to the contemporary bar. He believes in quality ingredients and a straightforward approach, and that hospitality is essential to the drinking experience. In 2012, he opened Heritage restaurant and most recently he was voted Best Bartender in Richmond in Richmond Magazine. Currently, he can be found behind the bar at Shagbark restaurant.
